Civil War Days at the Branch County 4-H Fairgrounds is a weekend of special events to honor our past fallen heroes of the Civil War era. Saturday evening features a Grand Military Ball and Barn Dance where reenactors and the public can enjoy period specific dancing with the Ruffwater Stringband.

Each spring the Union City Rotary Club holds its annual maple syrup fundraiser to support youth organizations. From trees within Union City, volunteers collect thousands of gallons of sap and cooked it down into pure maple syrup. The sale of maple syrup is the Rotary's largest fundraiser.
